My current body of work is a playful conversation between colors, shapes, and patterns that challenge the ideas of matriarchal roles, the struggle for perfection, and reclaiming women's art forms. Drawing inspiration from traditional and modern quilts, I ask myself if my painting of a quilt holds as much value and comfort as the quilts made by my ancestors? Is my work as an artist/mother just as important as the other matriarchs in my family? It’s a ongoing journey I’m excited to continue exploring!
